This is the blog for an art project inspired by the Folkestone Triennial 2011. The project is run at Highview Special School in Folkestone by artist-educator Zbigniew Kotkiewicz throughout May-June 2011. Major themes of these art activities are diversity of environments, objects, plants and animals as well as the notion of imaginary worlds. The main points of reference are work by Charles Avery, one of the artists participating in Folkestone Triennial 2011 and diverse elements of the world around us. Students are exploring processes of imaginative transformation of objects, creating various shapes and depicting different points of view. The project employs mixed media and aims to introduce students to spatial and sensory experience of making art.
Many thanks to Claire Smith and all Highview Special School staff for their help and support.
